Air captured in the small pockets hidden in earthenware clay are elements of concern whenever exposed to the fire of the kiln. Working with ceramics combines all four elements in delightful forms but can only be done in very specific way. The technicality of the combination (to avoid exploding pots) is a careful balance understood through feel and practice. Elisabet Ramos gave an introduction to types of clay, ways to work with ceramics, possibilities of this material and what can be put in the kiln held here in Metàfora. Inspiration from the natural beauty of this medium flowed through the group and the kiln is now filled with new cups, sculptures and pots waiting for firing.
